A spokesman for the show"s organiser, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, explained: "We chose a logo featuring the red, white and blue flag because it emphasises the British nature of the event, which is something we are keen to do."

Featuring a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder engine, the supermini comes in ÷£6,799 Sxi manual or ÷£7,499 Ezi auto trim. Both get power-steering, a CD player, air-con, remote central locking and electric windows. Perodua"s base Kelisa is currently Britain"s cheapest new car, at ÷£4,792.
