Insurance chiefs are calling for a change to the personal injury claim system, which sees í‚á£2billion a year going on legal costs. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) says the cash ought to be heading to the victims of car accidents, and is proposing future cases shouldn"t have to involve lawyers, thus removing the fees. "People are waiting too long to get a fair payout," explained ABI boss Stephen Haddrill.
