The survey, carried out by GE Company Car Trends, found that only 38 per cent of fleet managers questioned predicted an increase in the use of diesels in the future. Last year, sales of derv models rose by a whopping 40 per cent, while the overall new car market was down by five per cent. According to the poll, however, the current tax situation could severely impact on this upwards curve.

as bollards! Norfolk-based Bollards International is making road furniture out of old rubber. It says the pillars are less likely than cast iron ones to damage a car. While more costly to buy, they work out cheaper in the long run because they are maintenance free.
