In issue 877, we pictured the remains of one model after it had been subjected to a 40mph crash test by German motoring organisation ADAC. Importer Peter Bijvelds says that the off-roader meets all European requirements. "The Jiangling is safe," he insisted.

Red is the new amber. A shocking 30 per cent of 1,000 motorists polled by traffic exhibition organiser Traffex admitted regularly jumping red lights, despite this being a major cause of accidents. Meanwhile, a study by public safety research organisation Cochrane Injuries Group found safety cameras act as a strong deterrent against the crime.
