The picture of who goes where for 2008 in F1 has become clearer with the Scuderia Toro Rosso squad revealing it has signed ChampCar title holder Sebastien Bourdais. The Frenchman, who has tested for the outfit already this year, said: “It has been a long time coming, but here we are. I would like to thank everyone at Red Bull for giving me this opportunity.” He will line up alongside new boy Sebastian Vettel. Bourdais celebrated by winning the weekend’s ChampCar race at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. He increased his lead in the championship as he bids for a fourth successive title.

A new version of Hyundai"s Sonata executive car is set to debut at the Paris Motor Show next month. It will hit showrooms early in 2005, along with a facelifted Coup탩. The firm will also open a new factory in Alabama, USA, next year - it will build the Sonata, Santa Fe off-roader and the flagship XG350.

Revealed in concept form at the Seoul Motor Show, it"s called the L4X and around the same size as Mercedes" S-Class. It gets a similarly vast, bold grille and imposing styling to the big Mercedes, too. The newcomer has bi-xenon headlights and LED tail-lamps.

Inside, there are luxuries such as digital television, satellite navigation and tri-zone climate control. A 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine delivering 258bhp drives the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic gearbox.

Although GM Daewoo no longer sells cars in the UK and doesn"t plan to bring the L4X here in its present form, the new model could arrive in 2009 badged as a Chevrolet, carrying a price tag of around ÷£30,000.
