The GM-owned manufacturer...

The GM-owned manufacturer has launched a performance version of the Lacetti hatch, and hinted that a hot estate could arrive later this year.

As well as a new 120bhp 1.8-litre engine, the flagship Lacetti Sport comes with lowered suspension and a leather interior. It goes on sale in September, priced í‚á£11,995. An estate version arrives at the same time.

Speaking at the Motor Show, a Daewoo spokesman added: "We"re considering a Sport load-lugger, too, but no decision has yet been made. The estate on our stand has the lowered suspension, so adding a bodykit and leather would make a Sport Wagon."

Meanwhile, Daewoo"s Kalos Blue has been renamed Sport as it now comes in other colours. And the í‚á£6,495 Matiz Xtra Cool is the UK"s cheapest car with standard air-con.
