Only 25 per cent of those asked were recovery service members, and of those who weren"t, nearly half would call for a breakdown truck despite the potentially high cost for non-members. Only 10 per cent would attempt their own fix.

The Holy Grail of hydrogen as a power source for cars has been revealed. Researchers at the Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby have unveiled an invention which is able to store hydrogen - a lighter-than-air, inflammable gas - in tablet form. It has taken them a year and a half to get to this stage, and if successfully developed could provide vehicle

manufacturers with a user-friendly way of refuelling H-cars.
