The feature was created by Chrysler stylist Dave Spykerman. He simply decided to add a little circular well to the centre console of an interior he was designing, which could hold a drinks can upright.

The visual changes are subtle, but a larger grille and new front spoiler identify this as the more powerful variant. At the back, a redesigned bootlid provides improved aerodynamics over the existing car. Traditional Aston-style leather upholstery, combined with modern metallic detailing, features in the cabin. As with the regular Vanquish, customers can opt for either a two-seat or 2+2 layout.

The Italian car designer...

The Italian car designer wasn"t given the car from the firm, he created it himself. Our exclusive images reveal the GG50, a one-off supercar based on a 612 Scaglietti and built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the design studio.

Unveiled at this week"s Tokyo Motor Show, the new body is made entirely from aluminium, apart from the carbon fibre bumpers. The rear is 80mm shorter than the Scaglietti"s, but boot space has increased from 240 litres to 270 litres.

It"s a matter of taste on whether the model is prettier than its donor car, but with a shape merging Corvette, Maserati and Ferrari, it"s certainly striking.
