More than 400,000 vehicles...
More than 400,000 vehicles have "turned up" on the DVLA"s computers since new laws on car tax were introduced at the start of this year. The rolling registration scheme means owners are automatically fined í‚á£80 if they don"t renew their VED or notify the DVLA that the vehicle is off the road - which has led to the increase in honesty. The Peugeot 206 CC rival...
The Peugeot 206 CC rival is inspired by the firm"s CZ2 concept, which wowed the crowds at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show. The production car will debut at 2005"s Swiss event in March.
It will feature a folding hard-top instead of the concept"s soft-top, and the full four-seater layout will make way for a 2+2 configuration. Production starts at Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina"s Turin factory in 2006.
Meanwhile, an expanded range of the new Lancer family car hits UK showrooms in February. A 1.6-litre 96bhp petrol unit is the main engine and prices start at í‚á£9,999 for the saloon. The flagship Lancer Sport estate will be the only model with a 133bhp 2.0-litre powerplant and lowered suspension. It costs í‚á£11,999.
