The R8 is upping its game! This black V10 model, spied lapping the Nürburgring in Germany, shows Audi thinks its sublime supercar can still be improved.
A number of giveaways suggest this is a lighter, faster version of the R8. The most obvious change is the addition of a colossal rear wing, giving the car the look of a scaled-up Audi TT RS.
Thereò€™s also a more subtly revised diffuser at the back. Combine it with slick new aero winglets on the front bumper, plus race car clips on the bonnet, and itò€™s obvious this R8 will be as capable on the track as on public roads.
The newcomer is expected to be badged Clubsport, and also features a set of hugely powerful ceramic brakes.
In addition, Audi is said to be ditching the quattro 4WD on this car, in favour of a simpler rear-wheel-drive transmission ò€“ as on the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni.
