But as the pictures...
But as the pictures in this week"s mag - taken with a long lens - show, that"s clearly not the case. And while the show car"s glass roof panels and one-piece tailgate won"t make production, fans of the original design won"t be disappointed.
The car was revealed...
The car was revealed as a concept at last month"s Frankfurt Motor Show, and first versions are tipped to go on sale early next year. Powered by a 200bhp 2.0-litre engine, the Clio lacks the outright punch of VW"s Golf GTI and the Vauxhall Astra VXR, but Renault says the new RS"s blend of light weight and outright grip means it should deliver a seven second 0-60mph time and 150mph top speed.
As Renault"s engineers work on the new Clio, the firm is also readying a new range of powerful diesel engines. Heading the charge is a fresh 2.0-litre dCi delivering 175bhp, destined for the recently facelifted Laguna. Renault will also deliver a 150bhp 2.0-litre, 130bhp 1.9 and revised 105bhp 1.5-litre dCi for the Modus, M탩gane and new Clio.
