The range has been expanded...
The range has been expanded to accommodate drivers wishing to upgrade from the standard 16-inch rubber fitted to many 4x4s. The new tyres can be used as replacements for the OE tyres on the likes of the Mercedes G-Wagen, Land Rover Defender and Hummer H3, or can be swapped for some 15-inch rim sizes. BFG’s Triguard construction technique prolongs the tread life.
The duo join the standard...
The duo join the standard 911 Cabriolet line-up and use the same all-wheel-drive technology as the recently unveiled Carrera 4 and 4S coup탩s. It"s been further refined and directs between five and 40 per cent of the power to the cars" front wheels in slippery conditions.
The entry-level 3.6-litre Carrera 4 Cabriolet produces 325bhp, and sprints from 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds. It costs í‚á£69,900, which is í‚á£6,970 more than the coup탩 variant. Buyers will have to shell out í‚á£76,880 for the 355bhp 3.8-litre Carrera 4S Cabriolet - a rise of í‚á£6,980 over the fixed-head 4S model.
Both all-wheel-drive cars have wider bodyshells than the standard cabrios, but share the electric folding roof. Mean-while, a Porsche insider has hinted at details of a fourth model line from the firm. Speculation about any addition to the range has centred on the rumoured Panamerica - a big four-door saloon - but our source says the proposed model will be a small SUV.
Following the formula of its Boxster - a í‚á£35,000 sports car which sits below the 911 - the new car will be pitched at the same price, and complement the big-selling Cayenne off-roader.
