The mag"s spies captured the vehicle on test, and the exclusive picture in the mag shows how the production version will look. Using an all-new platform developed with Japanese manufacturer Suzuki, the 4x4 will be engineered to provide good on-road performance, thanks to its low ride height. Similar in size to the current Stilo hatchback, it will be able to carry five passengers.
A third row of chairs has been ruled out, but expect a versatile interior to boost practicality. Options will include the Connect+ navigation system and a Skydome electric roof. The 4x4 system will be as on the new Panda SUV, which is designed for occasional off-road use. Engines will be from Fiat"s current line-up, and include the excellent Multijet diesels plus the 1.6 and 2.0-litre petrol units. An equivalent vehicle will appear from Suzuki, replacing the current Ignis, but Fiat"s version is due to be revealed first, most likely at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show.
