The two-seater Caterham...

Advanced orders for the minimalist sports car have exceeded KTM’s expectations, and the Austrian firm now plans to build 1,000 examples a year once production starts in the spring. The first 100 will be limited-edition Dallara Series models aimed at track day enthusiasts. They will feature extra equipment, and are likely to get individually numbered plaques.
The X-Bow uses the Audi TT’s turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, which delivers 220bhp. It’s linked to a six-speed manual transmission or Audi’s clever S tronic sequential set-up, and propels the car from 0-60mph in around four seconds.
Entry-level models will be priced from ?37,238, which means the X-Bow undercuts the ?39,208 top-of-the-range Caterham CSR260. But the cost of the KTM doesn’t include delivery charges.
