The unique polymer uses minute silica nanoparticles which researchers claim can coat surfaces to stop them misting up. "It has potential to be the first permanent anti-fog solution," explained Professor Michael Rubner of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US.
The coating could be ready in two years, and at least two big car brands are interested.
