Brit Adam Carroll took his second GP2 win of the year in Hungary. The Ulsterman who only joined the Giancarlo Fisichella-owned FMS team at the French GP in June has now won two races this year. He finished second in the other GP2 event of the weekend that was running as a support race to the Hungarian GP. That race was won by Spain’s Javier Villa.

Three out of five who drive away in vehicles sporting this month’s new 08-plate will opt for less polluting models than their last one, according to a survey by car supermarket group Motorpoint.
And figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show there were 128,646 cars sold in 2007 which fall into emissions Band B, putting out less than 120g/km of CO2. That’s an increase of nearly 20 per cent over 2006.
Ten models account for three-quarters of all sub-120g/km cars. Our table shows the 10 best-sellers. Peugeot tops the league with its 107, which buyers can pick up for ÷£7,195. Toyota has three models in the line-up – the Aygo (third), Prius (sixth) and Yaris (eighth) – with prices starting at less than ÷£7,000. According to the SMMT, environmental concerns might not be the only factor attracting buyers to these models. Rising fuel costs and other levies could be responsible, too. New rules mean that from October, cars that emit less than 120g/km of CO2 will be exempt from London’s Con÷gestion Charge. These vehicles fall into the ÷£35 a year road tax bracket, too.
