More than 60,000 motorists...
More than 60,000 motorists were told where they could find all the fixed and mobile speed camera sites in the Midlands at this year"s British Motor Show. The Midlands Safety Camera Partnership handed out a free interactive CD-ROM showing where the speed traps are sited. The aim is to improve safety throughout the region, and it"s the first time the eight camera partnerships involved have disclosed the locations of all their sites. To get a copy, call 01604 635157.
Toyota"s tough Hilux...
Toyota"s tough Hilux pick-up has been given a mid-life facelift! The 2009 model gets a new grille and bumper with a wider air intake, while fresh 15 and 17-inch alloys complete the external modifications.
Inside, thereò€™s a revised steering wheel, which now incorporates stereo controls, and air-con is added to the standard kit tally.
But the changes are not purely cosmetic. The mud-pluggerò€™s 3.0-litre diesel engine has been given a power boost, and can now be mated to a new five-speed auto box. All variants benefit from revised suspension and bigger brakes, while the Double Cab version boasts side and curtain airbags. Prices for the Hilux will be announced closer to its on-sale date, at the end of the year.
