Motorists may get more...
Motorists may get more than they bargained for if they decide to "pimp their rides". Police in Scotland are clamping down on modified motors, claiming many customised additions break the law. Vehicles fitted with such aftermarket features as blacked-out windows, giant exhausts and neon lights are all being investigated. If the motors are found to be illegal, the authorities may seize them.
Two time world championship...
Two time world championship winning BP-Ford driver Marcus Gronholm has announced that he will retire from the FIA World Rally Championship at the end of the 2007 season.
He currently leads the world standings by 10 points from Sebastien Loeb and his last event will be at the wheel of a Ford Focus WRC during Rally GB at the end of November.
the time is right for me to finish now
Gronholm said: “This has been an incredibly hard decision for me to make. Rallying has been my life for so many years and when the Monte Carlo Rally comes round in January to start next year’s championship, it will feel strange not to be there. But the time is right for me to finish now. I want to concentrate on the remaining five rounds of the season. We lead both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ championship and I would like nothing more than to end my career with another title.”
