Vauxhall has come under...

Vauxhall has come under fire for an on-going fault that can cause its Corsa to burst into flames

Despite a previous recall, the manufacturer’s best-selling supermini continues to boast a weak spot which, in rare circumstances, can cause it to spontaneously combust.

Nearly a quarter of a million last-generation Corsas, built between 2003 and 2005, are now to be recalled once again for additional work to rectify the problem, which concerns water getting into the anti-lock braking system, causing a short-circuit.

A Vauxhall spokesman said: “Further design improvements have been identified to address this condition. We will contact all owners at the earliest opportunity. Customers are advised to continue using their vehicles in the normal manner in the meantime.”
