The Swedish wizards have created a world-first wheel made from the super-lightweight material, and put a set on the awesome new CCX, unveiled this week at the Geneva Motor Show. The 245mph, ÷£400,000 newcomer replaces the firm"s CCR. Keeping the same basic styling as the CC 8S model, the CCX has a redesigned body that"s 88mm longer.

Engines are unchanged...

Engines are unchanged, but the 1.4-litre diesel now meets Euro IV emissions rules. An automatic gearbox is also offered on the 1.4-litre petrol. Ride and handling remain the same, yet the firm has added electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist to boost safety. Prices start at ÷£8,700.

Vibrating car components...

Vibrating car components will soon become standard, predicts Japanese parts firm Denso. Shaking steering wheels, pedals, seats, headrests and seatbelts can alert drivers to potential dangers faster than dash lights or warning signs, cutting reaction times by up to a fifth of a second, according to scientists. Auto Express tested a car with a vibrating pedal in Issue 753.
