You"ve got to be quick...

You"ve got to be quick if you want to catch this shadowy supermini out on test... It"s Suzuki"s latest evolution of the top selling Swift.

Set to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show next year, this prototype is only in the first step in the firm"s efforts to create a successor worthy of the original.

Despite the heavy camouflage itò€™s still clear that the new Swift will retain its unique design, with the rounded front end, the short rear overhang and purposeful stance all on show.

Offering front-wheel-drive, our spies report that the new Swift will be available with a choice of petrol engines, delivering between 90 and 130 hp.

A new 80-hp diesel will be added to the range and weò€™ve already heard rumours of a hybrid variant - set to follow in 2011.

Prices will be announced closer to the car"s launch, but are likley to show a slight rise on those currently offered.
